Fat Loss When I’m So Hungry I Could Die…

The right way to lose fat is not to starve yourself. When you starve yourself you tend to over eat or binge on small high carb things, because your brain is programmed to crave the calorie heavy foods. There have been studies that show a hungry person who saw a pizza and the same, but “fuller” person saw the same pizza, but the response was totally different.

He reacted “hey, a pizza, gotta have it” on the first one where his stomach was empty and deprived of energy. The second time he said, “hey, a pizza”, with no futher thought as to eat it. This proves that it’s a good idea to eat small meals, more frequently to always have activity in your stomach. This helps eliminate cravings for high calorie foods, literally.

I did it today. I starved myself a little extra, just to try it. Here’s what I did.

  • I ate my egg + spinach omelett this morning like normal, with my multivitamin and fishoil supplement. DONE.
  • I went off to strength train and after had my Post Workout Drink (protein and carb mix). DONE.
  • I came home 30 minutes later, put 5 chicken breast in the oven, went about my activities and ate one chicken breast a few hours later with vegetable mix, while putting the other chicken breast in the fridge (ready to eat later). DONE.
  • Soon after I was feeling hungry, I hadn’t ate too much today, just 2 eggs, 2 handfulls of spinach, a chicken breast and some mixed vegetables + oil. I had a protein drink to get something in me quickly, that’s beneficial for my fat loss. DONE.
  • I was no longer hungry, UNTIL, about 2 hours later… I was craving something BIG AND CARB RICH. Instead I had some shrimp, about 12 shrimp and 2 eggs along with one banana, vegetables and 2 big glasses of water. DONE.

I was no longer “super hungry”, but rather full again. See how I killed that late night temptation with healthy food? I took a small meal, 2 eggs, 12 shrimp a banana, vegetables and oil to satisfy that HUGE CRAVING. I literally wanted to jump in the car, drive for 15 minutes to get to a pizza joint, spend $12 on a pizza, wait 15 minutes and by that time I’d have eaten it all, and be $12 behind! Not a good deal.

Instead I actually killed the temptation with some protein, fruit and vegetables. I felt full & satisfied. Then in an hour or two I’ll take a late night snack, probably some cottage cheese + fresh berries + fish oil or something and I’m done for today! That’s a simple yet effective way to do “fat loss” even if you are so hungry that you could die. To make it even better, try drinking the water first, then eat.
